Series contains assorted staff records received at the Commissioner's Office from various HBC fur trade districts. The records were kept by the Accountant's Department. The information provided by these records varies, but most include the employee's name, his capacity with the company, and the post at which he served. Other information provided in some statements includes the employee's age, the contract expiration date, his length of service and some remarks on the employee's character and demonstrated abilities. |

Custodial History |
|
The Archives Department of the Hudson's Bay Company was created in London in the 1920s. The Archives Department had custody of the records until they were transferred on deposit to the Archives of Manitoba in 1974, according to the 1973 Agreement between the HBC and the Province of Manitoba. In 1994, the HBC donated the records to the Province to be maintained permanently by the Archives of Manitoba. |
