Scope and Content 


This series consists of history record sheets, also called summarized accounts, which provide detailed analysis of the operations of district offices, posts, outposts, fur farms, Raw Fur Departments and transport vessels. The number and type of furs acquired at each post are also given, as are the names of post managers and masters of transport vessels..

Custodial History 


The Archives Department of the Hudson's Bay Company was created in London in the 1920s. The Archives Department had custody of the records until they were transferred on deposit to the Archives of Manitoba in 1974, according to the 1973 Agreement between the HBC and the Province of Manitoba. In 1994, the HBC donated the records to the Province to be maintained permanently by the Archives of Manitoba.




The sheets are arranged by district and the sheets for each district are preceded by a table of contents listing every unit in the district.
