Scope and Content 

 

Fonds consists of Mary Jordan's published and unpublished poetry, short stories, plays, novels and television and radio scripts.

Fonds also includes correspondence, newspaper clippings, subject files, photographs and other records which relate to R. B. Russell, the Winnipeg General Strike, One Big Union and the Winnipeg Labour Council. (Mary Jordan was R. B. Russell's secretary at One Big Union and was very involved in the labour movement.)

Fonds also includes bound volumes of the "One Big Union Bulletin" from 1920, 1924-1926 and 1929-1931. (These fill in the gaps of bound volumes in the Robert Boyd Russell fonds.)

Mary Jordan (1899-1983) was a secretary for One Big Union and Winnipeg Labour Council and a writer of poetry, short stories, novels and history.

Custodial History 

 

Records were donated to the Archives of Manitoba by Mary Jordan in 1982, by Havoc Franklin in 1992 and by the Manitoba Labour Education Centre in 1988 and 2001.
