This film is described as follows in the Manitoba Department of Agriculture's 1983 Audio Visual Catalogue: "Manitoba's vegetable industry is examined from products grown, processing, marketing, and promotion. Also includes an overall view of developments in the industry."
Film outlines the production and use of vegetables in Manitoba and includes footage of greenhouses, farms, farm machinery, planting, seeding, fertizing, cultivating, irrigation, tilling and harvesting of a variety of vegetables. It details the processing, packaging and canning of vegetables and the sale of them in stores. It describes activities promoting the use of vegetables, including events held during Salad Month in July: a parade, a Salad Queen, the Salad Bowl horse race and the Salad Bowl Games. It also includes footage of families eating salad and vegetables.
