The film was produced as a result of the success of "Look to the Centre." According to the Department's Annual Report, "the film depicts Manitoba agriculture both as a source of raw materials on which many important Manitoba industries are based and as a market for manufactured products ranging from feed concentrates to agricultural implements." See Department of Industry and Commerce Annual Report, 1956.
The film shows various Manitoba industries which are based on agriculture including: vegetable and meat processing, sugar refining, farm machinery and farm chemicals.
Much of the footage used in this film was also used in "Manitoba Industrial Breakthrough," "Manitoba" and "Look to the Centre."
This film has been digitized and is available on the Archives' online exhibit, Streaming from the Archives.
