Scope and Content

Series consists of annual statements of furs imported into Britain. The records contain lists of shipments noting the origin and quantity of each type of fur or other product imported. From 1801, the dates of forthcoming auctions are also given. The lists, orginally entitled "Cargoes of the Hudson's Bay Company's Ships" and later "Importations of the Hudson's Bay Company," were prepared by the HBC's fur brokers. Some of the lists have annotations giving yearly comparisons. Records are arranged chronologically.
