Scope and Content 


Fonds includes a letter from Wilson to her parents announcing her marriage and its impact on her legal career. Fonds also includes a copy of a letter announcing their marriage from her husband, Archibald Wilson, to his mother. Records also include three newspaper clippings documenting Wilson's admission to the New York Bar, and the kidnapping of her son, Roger in the 1920s. Also included are 5 photographs of Winifred and others.


Administrative History or Biographical Sketch 


Winifred Wilton Wilson (1891-1952) attended the University of Manitoba Law School and was the first woman to be called to the Manitoba Bar.
